Cycle the Solway takes place on Sunday 29th
September. Cycle on flat bike friendly roads through a unique corner of
Cumbria. Choose either 25km, 50km or 100km routes. All three routes start and
finish at The Border Reiver Pub in Carlisle. All monies raised go to the Eden
Valley Hospice.
·
100km route – The route heads west from The
Border Reiver Pub in Carlisle towards Abbeytown in the same direction as stage
two of this year’s Tour of Britain. The ride then heads towards Allonby and
then up the coast road to Silloth. The riders then head back towards Abbeytown
and then north towards Kirkbride where they will then complete a loop heading
through Anthorn, Bowness on Solway and Burgh by Sands before heading back to
the finish at The Border Reiver Pub.
·
50km route – The route heads towards
Thurstonfield through Little Orton from the start at The Border Reiver Pub. The
riders will then join up with the 100km participants at Kirkbride where they
will complete the same loop through Anthorn, Bowness on Solway and Burgh by
Sands before heading back to the finish at the Border Reiver Pub.
·
25km route – The route heads in the same
direction as the 50km ride with a shorter loop where the riders go through
Easton heading on to Burgh by Sands, then towards the finish at The Border
